      What will you be doing in your role?

      • Lead the Finance team, including financial analysts and staff accountants.
      • Provide oversight and support for the finance team during the annual budget process and annual audits.
      • Grow financial expertise for use in analytical support of the refugee programs in Texas, including projections of financial needs based on legislative developments, and stay up to date with the latest financial resources and training in the field.
      • Design and lead financial monitoring of partners, in close coordination with the Monitoring and Compliance Specialist/s and the Financial Analyst.
      • Complete special finance projects in a timely, accurate, and effective manner.
      • Obtain final approval of all reimbursement invoices from providers and budgets submitted for new/renewed subgrant agreements.
      • Work with the Directors in preparing the annual State Refugee Coordinator’s Office budget.
      • Maintain an understanding of the requirements of multiple federal grants and manage the pass-through of funds to multiple partner agencies, each with several subgrant agreements.
      • Provide ongoing fiscal review of providers.
      • Thoughtfully define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions when any financial or reporting issues arise.
      • Interpret an extensive variety of technical and financial data to provide reasonable analysis related to special projects, forecasting, new funding opportunities, and trend analysis.
      • Present relevant information, including financial impact for programs, to keep TXOR team up to date on changes in budgeting or reporting processes.

      Are you the next TXOR Associate Director of Finance?

      • Bachelor's Degree and five years of experience in accounting and financial reporting required.
      • Master’s degree in accounting or CPA preferred.
      • Experience with functional accounting areas such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, budgeting, and financial statement preparation.
      • Experience with governmental grants and Code of Federal Regulations compliance and non-profit agencies preferred.
      • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with Salesforce and Abila MIP preferred.
      • Ability to travel to quarterly strategic meetings across the state and sub-grantee monitoring (at minimum)
