      A Brief Overview

      The UI/UX Designer will assist in and create intuitive, high quality and seamless customer experiences for a variety of internal and externally facing applications by optimizing the functional experience and designing a polished and distinctive branded experience for products and applications. Makes user experience and design recommendations to management for multiple digital products, leveraging data and user research. Applies user-centered design principles and techniques to partner with software delivery teams to inform and improve solution design. Responsible for keeping up to date with modern design trends as it relates to the organizations' strategies. Interacts with Product Owners, developers, BA and QA professionals on the delivery team(s) to develop a shared understanding of business and user goals.

      This position will be with National Indemnity Company and located in Omaha, NE. This is a hybrid work environment and requires 50% in-office per week. This position is not eligible for employer visa sponsorship.

      What will you do?

      • Assist with and creates intuitive, high quality and seamless customer experiences for a variety of internal and external facing applications.
      • Work and communicate with internal product subject matter experts, stakeholders, fellow designers, and other technology teams to ensure smooth design development.
      • Collaborate with fellow designers, Product Owners, BAs, business and technology stakeholders to develop a shared understanding of business and user goals.
      • Participate in user research with internal and external customers. Assists in user interface usability studies including but not limited to user interviews, surveys, A/B testing, behavioral targeting, landing page optimization, usability testing, and digital experience monitoring.
      • Stay current on the latest UX/UI trends, techniques and best practices for web and mobile design.

      What are we looking for?

      • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience
      • Two or more years work experience
      • Experience in UX design tools (e.g. Figma, Adobe XD, InVision, etc.)
      • Experience with user research methods and techniques
      • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization

      Who would excel in this role?

      • Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and software development practices and procedures
      • Experience working in application lifecycle management tools such as DevOps, JIRA, or Rally
      • Experience with user research methods and techniques
      • Design experience in mobile platforms (iOS and Android)
      • Familiarity with continuous delivery and continuous integration
      • Insurance industry and product knowledge
