      The Department of Psychology at the University of Toronto Scarborough is a vibrant, research and teaching intensive department. In addition to providing students with deep grounding in one or more disciplinary traditions, the department also fosters research at all levels.       Your opportunity:


      Reporting to the Manager, Operations and Finance, the Undergraduate Program Administrator will work with a highly engaged team. Working with the Chair and Associate Chair, Undergraduate, to administer the Undergraduate Department of Psychology, the incumbent will enhance the student experience and advise students, faculty and staff in all matters relating to undergraduate programs. The position administers programs of study, external course registrations, overall degree requirements and eligibility to graduate, in addition to assisting with compiling data and participating in student recruitment activities.

      Your responsibilities will include:

      • Advising students on academic and/or financial matters by providing options and consequences incorporating personal circumstances impacting academic success and an understanding of an individual's background
      • Providing detailed information on program and/or course eligibility requirements, procedures, policies and deadlines
      • Conducting detailed analysis and evaluation to inform program planning activities
      • Preparing and disseminating curriculum cycle (course) timetables
      • Interpreting academic regulations, program and degree requirements
      • Advising on the appropriateness, precedents and process from petitions and appeals, and suggesting alternative course of action as necessary
      • Promoting programs at recruitment events
      • Disseminating information regarding procedures and practices

      Essential Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's Degree or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience
      • Minimum four (4) years of related student advising and program administration in a post-secondary environment
      • Experience advising students on academic matters and providing administrative support to an academic program
      • Experience in administering admissions processes, course enrolment, grades and final examinations and working with undergraduate program policies and procedures
      • Experience in advising students and faculty members with academic guidelines and procedures
      • Experience using Student Information Systems (i.e. ROSI)
      • Excellent (oral and written) communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal and presentation skills
      • Highly customer service focused and ability to take initiative
      • Demonstrated ability to exercise tact, good judgment and diplomacy when dealing with faculty, staff and students
      • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Teams and Outlook)
      • Strong organizational skills and focus in order to meet multiple, competing deadlines
      • Detailed-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
