What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Handle and transport non-human primates (rhesus macaques) for research purposes
- Set up studies and conduct behavioral observations
- Analyze data and maintain accurate records
- Monitor animal health and well-being
- Collaborate with team members in a fast-paced research environment
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must be a current undergraduate student at UW-Madison, ideally in Freshman or Sophomore status
- Interest in studying the biological basis of fear and anxiety in rhesus macaques
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Comfortable working with animals, especially non-human primates
- Basic understanding of biological and experimental procedures
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in animal handling or related research activities
- Good communication skills and teamwork orientation
- Highly motivated to learn new skills and techniques in research
