What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Administer experimental diets to mice as part of the research project
- Measure diet consumption and record mouse weights three times per week
- Collect, organize, and analyze experimental data for the research study
- Train in mouse handling techniques and ensure ethical care of animals
- Assist in ophthalmic research data collection and analysis as needed
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Current undergraduate student at UW-Madison
- Interest in biomedical research, particularly in vision sciences or related fields
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Comfortable working with small animals or willing to learn mouse handling techniques
- Basic understanding of biological and experimental procedures
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Good communication skills and a teamwork orientation
- Previous experience in a research setting related to biology or physiology
