      Job Description

      GTRI's Aerospace, Transportation, and Advanced Systems Laboratory (ATAS) is currently seeking an undergraduate research assistant who has a passion for mechanical design and prototyping for Fall 2024. This student will assist in a variety of programs, from wearable devices for virtual reality to mechanism design for space platforms. Work will involve CAD, 3D printing, basic electronics, and C++ programming.

      Required Minimum Qualifications

      Student Assistant/Research Assistant

      • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related fields
      • Must be registered for at least 6 credit hours with your university during working semesters
      • 3.3 or higher GPA
      • Experience with SolidWorks

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Experience in C++ (or similar) programming language
      • Experience using 3D printers
      • Willingness to learn new topics outside of comfort area
      • Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas

      Hours per Week

      10–20 hours per week

      Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.
