  Your Opportunity

  Our Underwriting Apprenticeship is a great opportunity for someone who would like to start a career with one of the world’s most successful insurance companies.

  The length of your apprenticeship will vary dependant on the course provider and scheme. The topics you'll learn will vary from:

  • Understanding the whole end-to-end underwriting process

  • Negotiating with brokers and customers

  • Insight into the legal environment of insurance

  What can I look forward to?

  As an Underwriting Apprentice within our Commercial business, you'll be contributing to the development and management of a specific area of insurance. You’ll get to work with national and international customers as well as with our key broking partners, all whilst experiencing the whole end-to-end underwriting process. This will include risk selection and assessment, pricing, structuring compliant programmes and policy wording coverage.

  You'll build relationships with key stakeholders within the commercial business to support our customers’ and brokers’ needs. This is a perfect opportunity to start your Zurich career in the dynamic, complex and exciting Insurance market, learning from experienced underwriters in your team.

  What you’ll need:

  • Full right to work and reside in the UK – Due to apprenticeship funding rules, You must have been ordinarily resident in the UK for the last three years and have the right to work in the UK. We cannot accept applications from those who require sponsorship to work in the UK

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 including Maths and English

  • Commitment & dedication to study an apprenticeship qualification

  • Appetite to learn and achieve professional qualifications.

  • Ability to use independent, analytical thinking

  • Eye for detail

  • A team player who enjoys working collaboratively and communicating with others.

  • Effective personal planning and organisation

  • Future thinking
