What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assess acceptability of highly complex underwriting risks using diagnostic and systematic analysis
- Determine appropriate pricing for complex risks based on financial and competitive analysis
- Make recommendations on underwriting policy and pricing strategy
- Analyze the quality, quantity, and profitability of underwritten risks and prepare reports for management
- Develop and maintain relationships with agencies and brokers to achieve profitable outcomes
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; professional designations preferred
- Minimum of eight years of underwriting experience
- Advanced technical expertise in insurance and underwriting principles
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects effectively
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience mentoring and guiding less experienced underwriters
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software
- Demonstrated leadership skills in a professional setting
