      THE ROLE
      We have a permanent full-time opportunity for a Risk Consultant to support our Risk Advisory team.

      In this role, you will create a positive customer experience in all interactions and seek to share observations and viable solutions to hazards with our customers.

      As a Risk Consultant, you make a direct contribution to the profitability and continued success of our customers businesses by improving their risk profile with your timely professional communication on the likelihood and consequence of potential Material Damage, Business Interruption, Machinery Breakdown, and other risks.
      With significant travel required across Auckland, your ability manage expenses and drive cost and time efficiencies whilst using a company vehicle requires a degree of flexibility with working hours.


      What you will do:

      • Site inspections, risk analysis and reporting.
      • Proactively negotiate with customers to improve risks and business continuity.
      • Act as a Risk Advocate and Technical Leader
      • Facilitate the implementation of agreed risk improvements.
      • Maintain superior customer service through regular interaction with branch underwriters.
      • Negotiate risk improvements and process for supply of risk improvement services via the preferred supplier network.
      • Complete post loss surveys or other work as required.
      • Provide technical advice to clients and sales stream staff on best practice loss prevention techniques.
      • Complete all projects and related work as required to support the larger Commercial Underwriting team
      • Provide feedback on risk trends or issues observed during client meetings or happening in the field


      Skills & Experience:

      • Understanding of the basic principles of insurance
      • Knowledge of risk consulting and risk management
      • Underwriting, Account Management or Claims experience
      • Experience in providing risk control advice
      • Experience in maintaining relationships with external suppliers and clients
      • Ability to quantify potential risk improvement costs and negotiate (i.e., sell) implementation with insured or prospect
      • Working towards tertiary qualification; insurance, risk management or related engineering discipline.
