Location: 600 N. Wolfe Street, Baltimore, MD 21287
Shift: Full Time - 40 hours per week, Day Shift - 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Non-Exempt; Pay Grade: NE
Position Summary:
Under the general direction of the Nurse Manager or designee, the Unit Coordinator is responsible for monitoring and ensuring that the patient care environment is well maintained to provide support to the unit(s). Coordinates and assures timely completion of work by assigned indirect patient care personnel.
Education : Knowledge of medical terminology and an ability to analyze supply equipment needs, establish standards, and monitor utilization, normally acquired through two years of college-level work in business, management, or allied health field and one to two years of related work experience in a health care setting.
Knowledge : Basic understanding of good business practices, human resources, and environmental services systems and standards. Must understand technical aspects of cleaning and have a strong understanding of people and what motivates and satisfies them.
Skills: Moderate level of analytical ability in order to develop policies and procedures for approval and assist in long- and short-term planning. Good interpersonal skills in order to coordinate the activities of employees, work together with all health care staff and interact with support services departments. Work requires effective organizational skills, written communication skills, and the ability to understand medical terminology.
Minimum Qualifications :
(1) One to two years related work experience in a health care setting.
(2) Knowledge of medical terminology and an ability to analyze supply equipment needs, establish standards and monitor utilization acquired through two years of college-level work in business, management, or allied health field, preferred.
(3) Basic understanding of healthcare environmental services, inventory control and customer service practices acquired in one to two years of related work experiences in a healthcare setting, preferred.
