      The Opportunity: Unit Coordinator – Oncology/Medicine | Ellison 16

      Ellison 16 is a thirty-six-bed unit devoted to the care of the acutely ill medical patient. The patient population on this unit includes a diverse mix of medical diagnoses requiring complex nursing care.

      Schedule

      • (3) 8-hour shifts
      • Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 11 am – 7:30 pm
      • 24 hours per week

      What are we looking for?

      As a Unit Coordinator, you will play a critical role in patient care by serving as the central source of information by communicating with patients, families, and medical staff. You will transcribe medical charts for patients to ensure that all their medical treatments and procedures are carried out. The position requires a high degree of accuracy and strong communications skills.

      • Effective coordinators who can arrange for patient services between multiple departments.
      • Effective customer service orientation and the ability to interact with diverse groups of patients, staff and providers.
      • Demonstrated ability to solve basic patient and practice problems using a combination of strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail and superior organizational skills.

      · Preferred: Associate degree; 1-year clinical experience

      · Required: High School diploma or GED required; Must have at least 1 year of customer service experience; Computer skills necessary (word, excel, and ability to learn MGH systems)
