Job Description
- Req#: UNITS001397
- This position floats between nursing units and carries a pager to be contacted by unit staff when there is a need for unit secretary services.
- Handles telephone communications, takes action or delivers messages as necessary.
- Assumes responsibility for special projects as assigned by nurse.
- This includes but is not limited to initiating and participating in activities on an "as needed" basis.
- Handles clerical responsibilities associated with admissions and discharges and notifies appropriate departments.
- The Foster Pavilion unit secretary orders name plates for residents’ doors and keeps biographies up to date.
- Takes photographs of residents at admission for MAR and those at risk for wandering.
- Prepares and keeps current activity boards and other logs as assigned.
- Maintains patient records, compiles new charts, thins charts as needed and insures adequate supply of chart forms and admission packets.
- Dismantles current charts of discharged patients and dispatches closed out charts to Medical Records Dept.
- Schedules appointments for residents, completes required forms, and arranges for transportation as needed.
- Maintains listing of patients’ schedules for therapies and clinic appointments.
- Orders supplies for nursing units, i.e. medical, food, kitchen, and general supplies.
- Stores items received from storeroom in proper storage area.
- Is aware of Presbyterian Homes Corporate Compliance policies including those having to do with confidentiality and security of information, and concern for the well-being of residents and patients. Demonstrates behaviors and completes work in a manner consistent with these policies.
- Minimum of one year work experience.
- Secretarial or clerical experience.

Westminster Place is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Unit Secretary for the Skilled Nursing Department. Join the team at Westminster Place, a Presbyterian Living community, an independent, non-profit senior living care organization offering full continuum of care from independent and assisted living to skilled nursing and memory care at four luxury retirement communities.
Starting at $18.76 - $26.37 per hour (Depending on years of experience)
Full Time (8:00 AM-4:00 PM) Monday through Friday.
