Greet and assist clients and visitors at the front desk in both English and Spanish.
Answer and route phone calls; provide accurate information on services, programs, and procedures.
Complete patient registration, intake, and referral tracking using electronic health records.
Perform clerical tasks such as filing, copying, scanning, typing, and proofreading.
Maintain and reconcile cash receipts; process payments and issue receipts.
Prepare and review documents including permits, forms, and subpoenas.
Collect and enter data for reports, billing, and inventory records.
Process and route mail, records, office supplies, and clinic materials.
Track supply orders and maintain purchasing records.
Support scheduling of staff meetings, trainings, and room usage.
Assist with moderately complex reporting using spreadsheets and databases.
Provide administrative support to one or more managers or providers.
Translate documents and interpret conversations for Spanish-speaking patients as needed.
Maintain confidentiality of patient and program records in accordance with HIPAA.
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Education/Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade; and
Experience: Two (2) years of general office support or customer service experience dealing directly with the public.
Depending upon assignment, candidates may be required to pass a criminal background check.

Multnomah County’s Community Health Center, part of the Integrated Clinical Services (ICS) division, provides high-quality, culturally responsive primary care, dental, and behavioral health services to underserved communities across the county. We are seeking a bilingual Universal Front Desk Assistant – Spanish to serve as the first point of contact for patients and clients at our busy health centers. This journey-level administrative role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment.
This position supports provider teams and administrative operations by performing a wide range of tasks including front desk reception, patient registration, referral processing, cash handling, scheduling, data entry, and records management. It requires independent judgment, strong communication skills in both English and Spanish, and a deep commitment to serving the public with equity and respect.
