Job Description

- Represent AFW with honesty, professionalism, and care—you are a key ambassador of the brand.
- Maintain a clean driving record (no more than two moving violations in the past three years).
- Obtain and maintain a valid D.O.T. Physical Card (AFW covers the cost).
- Provide your own basic hand tools (a company tool purchasing program is available).
- Work closely with a delivery partner to complete daily delivery routes.
- Work in various departments such as Receiving, Order Pulling, Customer Pickup, etc.
- Utilize delivery technologies such as Dispatch Track and iPads effectively.
- Assemble and disassemble furniture accurately and efficiently using the appropriate tools, while maintaining a high standard of quality and care in customers’ homes.
- Safely and efficiently load and unload merchandise to and from delivery trucks, forklifts, reach lifts, pallet jacks, etc.
- Team-lift furniture and other merchandise in and out of trucks, warehouses, and customer homes using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and reach lifts.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with team members, supervisors, and customers, including explaining merchandise and company policies.
- Work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate strong initiative.
- Perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment for extended periods.
- Manage time effectively and stay organized throughout the day.
- Collaborate with various departments to improve delivery processes, enhance efficiency, and exceed customer expectations.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, promoting a safe work environment at all times.
- Read invoices and UPC labels accurately to ensure proper merchandise loading.
- Inspect and inventory all merchandise prior to delivery to ensure order accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance at all times.
- Be available to work a flexible schedule, including all shifts, holidays, and weekends.
- All training is provided and paid for by AFW.
- Analytical - Ability to analyze, collect and research data and read reports, fierce attention to detail.
- Mathematical Skills -Basic math skills required. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure and use whole numbers.

- Able to work shifts that are 8-12 hours long.
- Ability to work 0 to 35 feet above the ground.
- Able to work in various weather conditions. The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
- Able to work in variable environments with different lighting, loud exterior noise, and flooring.

Shift: 7:00am-3:30pm but varied due to warehouse needs and special events
Reports to: Assistant Warehouse Manager
Job Summary:
American Furniture Warehouse is currently hiring a dependable Hourly Delivery Driver to support our delivery and warehouse teams. This role involves handling special and time-sensitive deliveries, as well as resolving customer issues through merchandise delivery and working in various departments such as Receiving, Customer Pickup, Order Pulling, and more. Responsibilities include assembling, inspecting, inventorying, and loading merchandise for delivery routes. All training is provided and paid for by AFW.
This is a great starting platform to promote into a commissioned delivery driver position making $65-$90k annually!

Compensation Package:
Starting pay is $21.00+ per hour depending on experience.
Supervision Given and Received:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities, though the position will lead by example with the department and warehouse. This position is supervised directly by Assistant Warehouse Managers.
Computer Skills:
Basic computer skills required.
Certificates and Licenses:
None required. Prior warehouse and/or equipment certifications/licenses preferred.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED is preferred.; equivalent combination of education and experience accepted in lieu of diploma.
