      40 hours per week

      Schedule:

      • Generally, 40 hours per week
        • Some hours will occur during business hours (8am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday)
        • Some hours will be support evening on-call rotation (8pm - 8am)
      • Evening On-Call Support:
        • Employees should expect to be on-call 1-3 nights a week.
        • While serving as night on-call support, employees must be residing on campus in the room provided.
        • Hours for Night On-Call Support will be 8pm – 8am.
      • Other night and/or weekend hours are required based on the needs of the groups you are serving. Schedules vary weekly based on staffing needs.
      • During the summer months and conference season, overtime hours may occasionally be available and must be approved in advance by the Conference Services professional staff.
      • Prior approval is required for staff to hold other employment or enroll in classes while employed in this position
      • Seasonal:This position is considered seasonal during the summer months and is exempt from the 89-day rule in regard to the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Hours worked may exceed 30 hours/week during the summer months.

      Salary/Wage Range:

      Hourly $16.00 to $16.00

      Position Summary/Job Duties:

      • Correspond directly with conference program sponsors and guests regarding components of their accommodations, meals, catering and other services with University Housing.
      • Participate in evening on-call rotation. Be available handle urgent situations and assist with emergencies during non-business hours when on-call.
      • Be on-site and manage designated conference group check-ins and check-outs.
      • Attend group meals and special catered events for conference guests as scheduled and provide feedback. Network and assist program sponsors.
      • Maintain conference databases by efficiently and accurately updating information in various systems.
      • Fulfill general administrative tasks including clerical support, word processing, data entry, and promptly and accurately responding to email and phone communication.
      • Attend and actively participate in staff meetings
      • May assist with Desk coverage and support.
      • May assist with Event coverage and support.
      • May assist with Conference Services coverage and support.
      • Other duties as assigned.

      Qualifications:

      • Satisfactory results of a confidential criminal background check are required.
      • A valid driver’s license which meets UW Risk Management standards is preferred.
      • Ability to complete occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds.
      • Preference will be given to students with a good understanding of University Housing operations and mission.
      • Preference will be given to students with previous office experience or work experience managing multiple responsibilities.
