Job Description
- Req#: 220407
- Conduct boundary, topographic, utility, and construction layout surveys
- Manage complex surveying projects, including coordinating with consultants and internal departments
- Maintain and update campus property maps and survey monument records
- Review survey deliverables for accuracy and adherence to standards
- Provide information and technical guidance to departments such as Facilities, Real Estate, and General Counsel on easements, land conveyances, and property boundaries
- Assist in the determination of unknown utilities when discovered
- Provide backup support in locating utilities using specialized locating equipment
- Review construction plans to identify conflicts with existing utilities or infrastructure and recommend adjustments
- Draft, review and interpret legal descriptions of boundaries and easements
- Maintain clear records and documentation of all survey-related work
- Coordinate with external utilities, consultants, and internal stakeholders to support project planning and implementation
- Participate in meetings and work groups related to campus development and utilities
- Support faculty and students in design-related courses and surveying labs when requested

In this important role, you will help maintain the accuracy of university property and utility records, guide major construction and planning efforts, and provide critical support to departments across campus. From conducting boundary and topographic surveys to coordinating complex projects and reviewing legal descriptions, your work will be essential to maintaining a safe, efficient, and well-planned campus.
