Details of the role and how it fits into the team

The Unix Engineering team is responsible for the strategy, engineering and delivery of the Linux and UNIX platforms within the bank.

Our focus is on automating all aspects of deployment, configuration, testing and management of the hardware, firmware, OS and clustering stack by integrating automation tooling into a larger continuous integration framework and pipeline.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Engineering standard OS builds and layered products, RedHat Enterprise Linux and Suse Linux Enterprise Server

• Testing of components to ensure compatibility and safety

• Developing automation to reduce toil and privileged access

• Writing technical documentation, including design documentation, training materials, and white papers

• Management and ownership of selected critical problem cases within the bank, drive through to resolution as level 3/4 subject matter expertise engineering resource

Your Skills and Experience:

• Knowledge of RedHat Enterprise Linux and Suse Linux Enterprise Server

• Broad knowledge of other Unix Operating Systems and associated add-on technology stacks

• OS level problem determination, problem analysis and tuning experience (memory, disk, network, file system, etc.)

• Experience with Ansible, Puppet, git/stash, TeamCity/Jenkins, Jira, Confluence

• Scripting skills (Python, Perl, shell)

Das Unix Engineering Team ist verantwortlich für die Strategie, das Engineering und die Auslieferung unserer Linux- und UNIX-Plattformen innerhalb des Unternehmens.

• Bearbeitung und Verwaltung von kritischen Problemen innerhalb der Bank, von Analyse bis zur Lösungsentwicklung, als Level 3/Level 4 Fachexperte in Engineering

Deine Erfahrungen und Fähigkeiten:

• Erfahrungen mit RedHat Enterprise Linux und Suse Linux Enterprise Server

• Erfahrungen mit weiteren Unix-basierten Betriebssystemen sowie dem dazugehörigen Technologie-Stack

• Kenntnisse in Problemerkennung und -analyse auf Betriebsystemebene sowie mit OS-Tuning (Speicher, Festplatte, Netzwerk, Dateisystem, etc.)

• Erfahrung mit Ansible, Puppet, git/stash, TeamCity/Jenkins, Jira, Confluence

• Scripting (Python, Perl, Bash)
