- Level 3 Diploma in the Principles of Aseptic Pharmaceutical Processing (SMT training programme)
- Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians or equivalent Level 3 course to become a registered Pharmacy Technician or working towards
- Registered science technician with science council or registered pharmacy technician with the GPhC
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- To be able to demonstrate a good level of understanding of pharmacy services and GMP
- To be able to demonstrate good knowledge of stock control systems
- Good IT skills
- To demonstrate a good understanding of confidentiality
- Experience in supervision within a pharmacy setting
- To be able to demonstrate initiative
- To be able to demonstrate the ability to prioritise workload
- To be able to demonstrate the ability to deal with customers and their enquiries over the phone
- To be able to demonstrate experience working within a team
- Team leader experience

Job summary
The Unlicensed aseptic pharmacy team are looking for an unlicensed pharmacy aseptic services technician to join their team
This is a new post which is based at the Royal Derby Hospital (RDH)
The post holder must be a registered (or working towards) Science Manufacturing Technician or a Pharmacy Technician. The post holder must be able to be registered with either; the science council, or the General Pharmaceutical council
Student Science Manufacturing Technicians or Student Pharmacy Technicians who qualify to become registered with the relevant governing body within the next 3 months are eligible to apply for this post.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to work flexibly across the unlicensed aseptic units, covering a range of operational duties which are essential for the aseptic preparation of medicines. Duties include; creating worksheets and labels, assembly of orders, manufacturing, performing pre-process checks and in-process checks and cleaning of all equipment, ingredients, surfaces and clean rooms
The post involves working within clean rooms, wearing PPE including clean room clothing. Also working with medicines and using cleaning chemicals
The post holder must participate in weekend and Bank Holiday work in accordance with departmental rotas
