Our team of Unplanned Patient Care Administrators work closely with our Urgent Care Controller and various clinicians to ensure the smooth and effective running of our urgent care provision across the practice.

As an Unplanned Patient Care Administrator you will need to have the ability to resolve situations quickly and effectively, whilst utilising relevant LMP systems and your initiative!
Due to the nature of the role, the post holder will be required to work to cover a rota that operates between 8am and 6:30pm each day.

Lancaster Medical Practice is a large, at-scale, GP provider delivering General Medical Services to around 68,000 patients in Lancaster and surrounding villages. Key Duties/Responsibilities
To assess and action as appropriate, all requests for urgent (within 72 hours) appointments. Ensuring that all requests are actioned in line with the practice protocol for urgent appointments.
Ensure that all associated administration from the above (such as tasks) are actioned promptly, in line with practice protocols.
To work closely with the Planned Patient Care Administrators (PPCA) to ensure that requests for routine/continuity care and appointments are passed to the relevant team appropriately.
To work alongside the on-call medicines team, including the on-call pharmacist to ensure appropriate action of urgent prescription requests.
To monitor the availability of appropriate resource and escalate to the Urgent Care Controller, when difficulties with this resource are perceived.
Once trained, to provide chaperone duties to clinicians, and ensure accurate recording on EMIS.
To support the Patient Services Navigator team answering all incoming telephone calls, as required by the Practice.
