  POSITION SUMMARY:

  The Upholstery Assembler position is responsible for putting the vinyl covers on the production and warranty furniture components and securing them in place.

  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Installs vinyl covers on furniture parts using various stretching, pulling, and shaping techniques.
  • Staple the covers to the furniture parts by using air powered stapling equipment.
  • Inspects finished product for quality upon completion.
  • Performs various manual assembly operations such as: trimming, hinge installation, and foam gluing.
  • Collects foam pieces in bundles.
  • Operates and performs daily cleaning and maintenance on various assembly machines such as: snap, hydem embossing, heat transfer and screen printing.
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

  EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Preferred Degree: Former Apprenticeship or associates degree preferred
  • Experience: 1 year experience preferred, but not necessary

  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

  • Ability for rapid mental and muscular depth perception
  • Repetitious work
