Proficient in teaching students safe and effective dance techniques, with an emphasis on posture, body alignment, movement mechanics, and muscle control.

Proficient in instructing composition for young choreographers across varying experience levels.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues on both production tasks and creative projects.

Experience directing and choreographing student dance productions.

Proficient in differentiation and teaching mixed-level dance classes.

Extensive experience teaching dance in a school setting.

Expert classroom management skills for students in grades 6-12.

Well-connected with local dance companies, programs, performance artists, and choreographers.

Preference given to candidates with experience in producing performances, managing budgets, and/or overseeing a school dance department.

Crossroads School for Arts and Sciences seeks a temporary full-time dance teacher in the K-12 Dance Department for August 19th, 2024 through December 20th, 2024. This is a Middle and Upper School position, working with 6th-12th grade students. The candidate will work alongside the K-12 Dance Department Chair to energize the dance program, working as a champion of dance in an educational setting. The ideal candidate must be a master teacher who inspires students to push creative boundaries, has a desire to embed into the school culture and uphold school expectations, while being team-oriented, collaborative, self-motivated, proactive, accessible, flexible, and charismatic.
