He angitūtanga: The opportunity
The Tāmaki Makaurau Design Ope at Te Kaunihera o Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland Council is one of the most creative and influential urban design and landscape teams in Tāmaki Makaurau. We are home to the Auckland Urban Design Panel, the Auckland Design Manual (ADM) and the City Centre Masterplan (CCMP), and we are recognised internationally for our ability to shape the urban design and landscape conversations in Tāmaki Makaurau and Aotearoa.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented designer/planner who wants to have an internship in a fast-paced design team. You will be primarily supporting the design review and strategy & projects teams to help deliver the unit work programme.
The intern will participate in a range of work over the course of a three-month programme, providing a broad insight to design review and design policy.

We offer a three-month paid summer internship programme where you will have the opportunity to participate in key projects and gain valuable experience.
You’ll get a taste of where your career could go and at the same time, you’ll be developing your skill set through real work experience and on-the-job learning.
You’ll be part of Auckland Council’s internship whānau and will be supported every step of the way by a team who want you to succeed including a mentor, liaison, and the wider intern cohort.

We are looking for a proactive intern to join our collaborative team in the Tāmaki Makaurau Design Ope.
As part of your application, you will be asked to provide us with your portfolio, along with a sample of your written work, such as a course paper that you have submitted.
