      Position Details:

      The Opportunity:

      The basic functions of this position is to develop, implement, and manage programs and activities for the Sport Club Federation, Intramural Sports and Youth programs. This includes the management of 10-15 student sport clubs, 6-12 intramural sport leagues, and the management of the Cougar Kids summer camp. This entails supervising a large staff of assistants, officials, leaders and supervisors, direct oversight of program operations, development and implementation of safety and risk management procedures, managing programs’ budgets, and other duties as assigned. This role facilitates the operation of the three programs mentioned above including fiscal management of these programs.

      This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. Overtime eligibility will be determined based on final salary placement.

      Monthly Salary:

      $4,061.90 - $6,092.84 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications

      In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

      Required Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Business, Recreation, Sport Management, Higher Education or related field) and three (3) years of experience directly related to the specialty area to include a minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

      • Sport officiating experience.


      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Master’s degree in Physical Education, Sport Management, Recreation, Business, Higher Education, Student Development or related field.

      • Four or more years of progressively responsible relevant professional experience.

      • Demonstrated success developing and managing budgets.

      • Demonstrated experience administering risk management practices for recreation programs.

      • Professional experience administering intramural, sport club, and/or youth programming.

      • Experience in the development and implementation of extensive staff training and evaluation programs.

      • Demonstrated success in personnel training and supervision of multiple part time staff.

      • Demonstrated success in the development and implementation of recreational programs to a culturally diverse population.

      • Certification as American Red Cross First Aid Instructor or Challenge Course Facilitator.

      • NIRSA Membership.
