DEPARTMENT/TEAM DESCRIPTION
As Bayer Crop Science's Digital Farming arm, we deliver sustainable digital solutions using the latest agronomic science, data science, engineering, and real-world farming experience. With groundbreaking technologies like Climate FieldViewTM and our ForGround regenerative agriculture platform, our team is a part of some of the most important advancements in agriculture. The Business Analytics Team is focused on creating a competitive advantage for Bayer and our customers through metrics, insights, and data services. We are an entrepreneurial team that builds and leverages state-of-the-art analytics systems. Our work informs decisions and direction for our business, while also impacting our products.
POSITION SUMMARY-
Primary responsibility will be to work with department leaders to derive insights that improve business performance. This includes exploratory analysis of large data sets, metrics identification and report creation, and development and maintenance of analytic systems. This role will broadly influence the company’s products, operational effectiveness, sales/marketing strategy, and elevate the role of data as an asset to the business.
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform detailed data exploration and validation from a variety of sources
• Build reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor the performance of our company
• Develop new insights and analyses that inform decisions and help us continue to delight the people using our platform
• Provide advice and education in the usage and interpretation of data to the business users
• Data mining, statistical analysis, and data visualization to help understand how growers are interacting with our product
• Effectively summarize and present critical findings to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership
REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES
Education Requirement(s):
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Math or a related quantitative discipline
Skill & Competency Requirements
• 2 years of relevant experience
• Highly proficient in SQL
• Development experience with BI platforms like Tableau
• Detail oriented with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Highly organized, independent and self-motivated, committed to deliver consistent, accurate and high-quality work products
• Understanding of master data management, relational databases, columnar databases, ETL and data warehousing.
Preferences: (list nice-to-haves such a specific knowledge items, certifications, skills, abilities, etc.)
• Experience working as an analyst in a product, marketing or sales organization
• Ability to extract data from databases using BigQuery or other tools.
• Intermediate skill using Python or R
• Basic understanding of statistical analysis and experiment design
• Self-starter who enjoys working in both individual and team settings
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills
