  Marine Diesel Engineer

  Position Summary:

  As Marine Engineer, you will support diesel engine propulsion systems and ship service diesel generators onboard Navy surface ships, submarines, aircraft carriers, and work alongside program managers, engineers, and Navy personnel.

  Qualifications:

  • BS in Marine Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution (other degrees will not be considered).

  Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be a US citizen able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

  Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze, trend, and report on diesel engine data; develop logistics, plan projects, and support training, testing, and meetings.
  2. Conduct ship visits for inspections and data collection.
  3. Calibrate diesel engines and verify governor controls.
  4. Troubleshoot propulsion and generation systems.
  5. Support installation of system upgrades on Navy ships and submarines.
  6. Perform additional duties as assigned.

  Required Skills and Experience:

  • BS in Marine Engineering (other degrees not considered).
  • Up to 5 years' experience in diesel engine operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting; recent maritime academy graduates considered.
  • Shipboard experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.

  Physical Demands:

  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
  • Physical activity including walking, climbing, bending, and standing.
  • Ability to speak, read, hear, and write, with or without assistance.
  • Proficiency with office equipment and systems.
