- Req#: 32558193552
- BS in Marine Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution (other degrees will not be considered).
- Must be a US citizen able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
- Analyze, trend, and report on diesel engine data; develop logistics, plan projects, and support training, testing, and meetings.
- Conduct ship visits for inspections and data collection.
- Calibrate diesel engines and verify governor controls.
- Troubleshoot propulsion and generation systems.
- Support installation of system upgrades on Navy ships and submarines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- BS in Marine Engineering (other degrees not considered).
- Up to 5 years' experience in diesel engine operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting; recent maritime academy graduates considered.
- Shipboard experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
- Physical activity including walking, climbing, bending, and standing.
- Ability to speak, read, hear, and write, with or without assistance.
- Proficiency with office equipment and systems.
Marine Diesel Engineer
Position Summary:
As Marine Engineer, you will support diesel engine propulsion systems and ship service diesel generators onboard Navy surface ships, submarines, aircraft carriers, and work alongside program managers, engineers, and Navy personnel.
