We are seeking an enthusiastic Senior Manager of software Engineering specializing in embedded Linux systems to help develop and maintain Vizio’s core operating structure. The Senior Manager will be responsible for taking visions and directing, communicating, tracking, and mentoring the Engineering team to successfully implement those visions, solving the most difficult problems in the company. This Position will report to our Senior Director, Software Engineering and will have multiple Engineering Managers as direct reports. We are a close-knit team, focusing on challenging problems that make a difference in our business. There will also be minimal travel associated with this role (twice a year). We concentrate on high-impact, high-value development, and in this role, you’ll be delivering the software that helps us grow. We pride ourselves on working in a collaborative environment, and to do so we are in our Dallas, TX office 5 days a week.

About the Team:

Our team is a high-functioning group consisting of UX designers, software engineers, dev-ops, quality assurance, and product management professionals. We work collaboratively to develop solutions that enhance user experiences and meet business objectives. As a Senior, Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping the technology that drives Walmart's video streaming and ad insertion services.

What You’ll Do:

Design, develop, and deliver high-quality embedded UI interfaces/applications on the Vizio OS/TV platform.

Collaborate with UX designers, software engineers, and other cross-functional teams.

Accurately estimate software tasks and adhere to schedules.

Provide technical leadership and conduct code reviews.

Participate in the planning and refinement of features and design APIs/SDKs for internal and external use.

What You’ll Bring:

6+ years of experience in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, TypeScript, and JavaScript (Angular, ReactJS).

Strong knowledge of web communications (Http, REST, WebSocket, IPC).

Deep understanding of streaming technologies, protocols, and adaptive bitrate streaming.

Proven track record in optimizing and architecting software solutions.

Experience with video ad insertion technologies (SSAI, DAI) and developing embedded software for TVs.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00
