      Job Description

      • Iterative collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, e.g. Product Design, System-, Software-, Electronical-, Mechanical Engineering, in various, international projects
      • Close collaboration with Product Management in establishing analysis of context of use (use cases) and task analysis, based on user- and stakeholder needs.
      • Applying human factors/Usability Engineering processes and principles to discover use errors, to assess and mitigate use-related risk and to improve overall usability
      • Participating in the development of physical and digital user interfaces, e.g. physical device components and controls, software applications, and their behavior and interaction rules
      • Documentation of requirements and specifications in iterative collaboration with other disciplines
      • Close collaboration with Product Designers and other disciplines to prepare physical and digital design prototypes, from first mockups to final validation products
      • Participating in the elaboration of instructions for use as part of the user interface of medical devices, for usability evaluation and for the final product, according to regulations and standards
      • Close collaboration with customers to develop and to improve user training concepts and provided training material
      • Collaborating with study vendors to prepare and conduct international formative and summative human factors studies
      • Optimizing designs in consideration of safety and effectiveness, based on outcomes of iterative formative testing
      • Lead usability engineering projects to submission of medical devices according to MDR and FDA regulations

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s- or Master’s degree in one of the relevant professional fields, e.g. Human Computer Interaction Design, Usability Engineering, Requirement Engineering, Psychology
      • Evidence of further class attendance or certificates in the field of Usability Engineering and/or User Experience Design
      • Project experience in the development of Medical Devices and appropriate competence in the implementation of project activities and in adhering to schedules
      • Good communication skills with internal and external colleagues.
      • Good overview of interdisciplinary connections and dependencies within the development process and in the documentation
      • Very good verbal and written language skills in German and English
      • Independent, communicative, and solution-oriented team player with a high level of initiative
      • Motivation and pleasure in achieving common goals
