- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position has been identified as a Test Designated Position (TDP). The incumbent of this position will be subject to and must consent to a pre-employment and random drug testing.
- This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.
- This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain, maintain, and provide evidence of current immunizations this includes annual influenza vaccinations and be free of all communicable diseases.
- This position requires the incumbent to have or be able to obtain a valid driver's license
- This position requires the incumbent to complete assigned training, to include Food Handlers certification, within specified time from date hire or assignment to position.
- Training and experience which provides a practical knowledge of food and nutrition and early childhood development as it relates to nutrition.
- Ability to apply specialized, detailed guidelines, to assist with the training program, and to become an authoritative source of information of the CACFP. Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and to preform mathematical computations, must be familiar with the use of computers.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and have the ability to speak, read, and write English. Must pass a physical examination and get or have required immunizations.
This position will be assigned to the Child and Youth Services Flight.
This position is subject but not limited to work the following hours:
6:00AM - 8:00PM
Monday - Friday
Occasional Weekends

The purpose of this position is to assist the Child and Youth Services Flight which include the Family Child Care (FCC), Child Development Center (CDC), and School Age Care (SAC) programs with the administration and the training related to the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), in accordance with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Regulations and Guidelines. Visits and monitors FCC homes for compliance with regulations and guidelines, reviews menus, production records, meal attendance records, sign in/out sheets, CDC and SAC log books, child enrollment forms and income eligibility forms ; assists with nutrition training for the Flight; reports progress and/or problems to the Community Childcare Coordinator, Child Development Center Director, and or Supervisory School Age Care Program Coordinator; collects documentation, calculates claims for reimbursement checks to providers; provides training to FCC providers, CDC, SAP, and YP staff related to CACFP, explains recordkeeping and requirements, assists with menu planning, and provides reference and educational materials; attends CACFP related workshops; assists with ongoing in service training to include developing training aids; maintains accurate CACFP records and prepares various reports in accordance with State (Department of Education & Early Development) USDA Requirements. Updates enrollment roster and CACFP files monthly; plans and conducts nutritional training; provides nutritional activities during quarterly home visits. Maintains detailed fiscal/budget records in order to meet strict requirements of the State Audit Section. Responsible for reimbursement check requests for individual FCC providers. Monitors and tracks USDA food recalls and works closely with Public Health to document any use of recalled food. Acts as a Liaison for local and state USDA officials. May be required to operate government vehicles. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. Performs other related duties as assigned.
