The User Experience (UX) Designer role is onsite in the Oak Brook IL office for the first 6 months and then will be granted to work 2 days remote a week after hire
Responsible for designing and recommending usable and functional solutions through extensive user research, iterative design cycles, and partnership with IMRF’s business units. The UX Designer will need to develop a deep understanding of IMRF’s customers and their needs. This role will conduct continuous usability reviews on existing products, sites, and customer experiences to understand customer behaviors and develop recommended improvements based on findings with the end goals of driving higher customer satisfaction results and efficiencies with business processes.
Additionally, the UX Designer may partner closely with business units in the design of new enhancements or solutions through user research, prototyping, and usability testing to help ensure functionality will meet end user needs and drive optimal performance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Produce, present, and oversee user experience deliverables including wireframes, prototypes, usability testing documentation, experience strategy documentation, process flows, etc.
• Facilitate discovery activities with limited oversight such as design workshops, stakeholder interviews, accessibility audits, expert reviews, etc.
• Conduct user research activities such as user testing, persona development, and customer journey maps.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative, best-in-class, customer-centric solutions
• Contribute to the establishment of experience design standards, deliverables, and methodologies within the organization
• Stay informed on UX best practices, trends, tools, and participate in UX communities of practice

Education and/or Experience
· Bachelors’ degree required
· 3-5 years’ related work experience
· Experience working in UX design, user research, usability testing, information design and information architecture
· Experience with user persona development, customer journey mapping, and service blueprinting
· Ability to analyze information and situations, identify and solve problems, and draw effective conclusions
· Ability to create working prototypes for in-progress design and testing
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
· Proficiency in MSOffice Suite, including Excel (formulas, calculations, charts, graphs, pivot tables, macros, etc.)
· Knowledge of risk analysis a plus
· Certified Lean Practitioner a plus
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, members and employers.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plan and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
The expected annual salary range for this r ole is $81,000- $95,000. Please note the salary information is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. The range listed is just one component of IMRF's total compensation package for employees. Other factors include the following benefits:
