- Establishes liaison with and coordinates activities between the Department, federal agencies, utility companies and other entities.
- Implements and interprets Department policies and procedures as they relate to utility adjustments, relocations, negotiations, reimbursements and compliance with applicable state and federal laws.
- Measures, coordinates and calculates payments such as betterment ratios, eligibility percentages, supplements, market value comparisons and relocation costs.
- Prepares, processes and maintains documents, references and/or resource materials.
- Meets with utility representatives and other entities to explain the utility accommodation policy and relocation and reimbursement processes, negotiate, answer questions and to resolve problems.
- Performs audits and assists in determining eligibility requirements for payment of relocation reimbursements.
- Prepares utility adjustment assembly folder to include all pertinent data and handout materials; prepares report for
approval. - Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
- Reviews agreements, plans, specifications and billings submitted by the utility companies.
- Develops, Implements and interprets Department policies and procedures as they relate to utility adjustments,
relocations, negotiations, reimbursements and compliance with applicable state and federal laws. - Assists in developing and preparing program manuals and/or classroom materials.
- Performs legal and/or technical review analysis of schematics, utility adjustment plans and cost estimates, maps,
surveys, field notes, property descriptions, pre-appraisal and appraisals, titles, deeds, legal and curative instruments and/or
exhibits. - Research problems and coordinates solutions regarding program processes and procedures; prepares correspondence and makes recommendations to improve programs.

!*!TxDOT's District Office in Mesquite is looking a Utility Coordinator I, II, III or IV to deliver roadway projects by assisting in the coordinating, reviewing, and permitting of utility relocation plans. This position partners with our local utility companies to safely and efficiently solve engineering challenges related to multiple project utility relocations. While this position works primarily in the office, field visits are common to solve problems on site. In one of the fastest growing counties in Texas, your role as a utility coordinator is critical to our success!

Utility Coordinator II: Coordinates and performs technical work related to new utility installations and state and/or federally funded utility adjustments and relocations. Work requires contact with private entities and governmental agencies. [Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor].
Utility Coordinator III: Coordinates and performs technical work related to new utility installations and state and/or federally funded utility adjustments and relocations. Work requires considerable contact with private entities and governmental agencies. [Employees at this level establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives]. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, public admin, real estate, engineering, management, accounting, public. Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications
Experience:
Utility Coordinator I: 1 year utility related experience. (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated part-time equivalent). Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.
