- Assists utility crews in all activities involved in the maintenance, diagnostics, repair, and installation of the water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
- Begins developing a basic knowledge of the water distribution and wastewater collection system.
- Observe and train how to conduct routine repairs to water mains and sanitary lines.
- Learns how to perform routine diagnostics of problems.
- Learns the procedures involved in properly operating, maintaining and cleaning utility equipment such as pumps, backhoes, jet machines and generators.
- Required to work as an essential employee before, during and after an emergency or disaster.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- No previous water or wastewater related experience required.
- Valid Texas Driver License
- National Incident Management System (NIMS) ICS-100.b, ICS-200, ICS-700.a within three months after hire date.
