What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Serve as a liaison between members, physicians, providers, and staff, ensuring effective communication
- Process initial intake of information and assist with authorization functions
- Review and process requests for authorization and notification of medical services
- Apply the employer’s criteria and policies to authorization requests from medical professionals and facilities
- Directly interact with providers, acting as a resource for their needs
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting or utilization management
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare processes
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with prior authorization and referral processes
- Familiarity with healthcare technology and information management systems
- Background in customer service within a healthcare context
