What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide support to the Medical Management department for outpatient or inpatient referral/authorization processing
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to authorization processing
- Ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines in referral/authorization processing
- Assist with pre-authorizations and reimbursement regulations concerning Medi-Cal, CCS, and other government programs
- Collaborate with team members to enhance the efficiency of utilization management processes

What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical billing environment, preferably with IPA or HMO
- Experience with pre-authorizations and reimbursement regulations required
- Prior experience in utilization management processing authorization referrals
- Preferred prior experience in a lead position

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- MA or Medical Billing Certificate
- Experience in a lead position within a medical billing or utilization management setting
