      Job Description

We’re looking for a UX Designer III with a passion for Design Systems to lead the vision and evolution of a scalable, cohesive system that powers digital products supporting the St. Jude mission. This role ensures consistency, usability, and accessibility across all digital experiences by creating and maintaining a unified set of components, patterns, and guidelines.

You’ll collaborate across product teams to accelerate delivery, improve quality, and enable experimentation that drives measurable audience behavior change and business outcomes. If you thrive on strategic design thinking, collaborative empathy practices, and creating reusable, brand-aligned assets, this is the role for you.

      What You’ll Do

      • Own and evolve the Design System: Develop, document, and maintain reusable components, patterns, and guidelines that ensure consistency, accessibility, and scalability across digital products.
      • Create adoption-ready artifacts: Produce high- and low-fidelity component mockups, interaction specs, and usage documentation for seamless implementation.
      • Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with Product Managers, UI Developers, and Content Strategists to integrate the design system into workflows.
      • Establish governance: Define processes for component requests, updates, and contributions to maintain system integrity.
      • Champion accessibility: Embed WCAG and inclusive design principles into all components; conduct audits and testing for compliance.
      • Drive education and adoption: Lead workshops, demos, and training sessions to promote design system maturity.
      • Measure and iterate: Define KPIs for adoption and effectiveness; use analytics and feedback to continuously improve.
      • Influence product strategy: Serve as a subject matter expert for design system best practices.

      Job Requirements:

      • Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience in UX, Design, or UI Development.
      • Expert-level proficiency in Figma for component libraries and prototypes.
      • Experience building and maintaining design systems at scale using atomic design principles.
      • Familiarity with collaboration tools (FigJam, Mural, Miro).
      • Strong understanding of WCAG accessibility standards and UI principles.
      • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript for design-to-development handoff.
      • Experience with usability testing and analytics tools (UserTesting.com, HotJar, Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics).
      • Ability to craft UX artifacts like journey maps, sitemaps, and personas.
      • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
      • Strong problem-solving ability, self-direction, and collaborative mindset.
