UX/ UI Designer
GlasgowAs a Barclays UX/UI Designer, you will join our team of visionaries who thrive on crafting elegant and intuitive user experiences, while maintaining a keen eye for visually appealing interfaces. Within this role, you will help build an outstanding Design Centre of Excellence that will help us on our journey to develop scalable, resilient, and efficient platforms, while simplifying and creating capacity to reinvest for growth and client experience.

At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’ days of the week for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). What will you be doing?
• Conducting user research via interviews, surveys, and usability testing to gather insights about user needs
• Creating visual representations of user journeys and map out the product's layout and functionality to illustrate the user flow and interactions via wireframing and prototyping
• Developing high-fidelity mock-ups and information visualisation while ensuring the visual elements align with the brand and enhance the overall user experience
• Working closely with cross-functional teams to implement design solutions and address usability challenges
• Ensuring designs are responsive and adaptable across various devices and screen sizes, and integrate accessibility principles to make products equitable for all
• Working with the Design director to develop and maintain design systems to create consistency in visual elements across different parts of a product or multiple products
What we’re looking for:
• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, UX/UI Design, Interaction Design, or a related field
• Good portfolio showcasing previous design projects, demonstrating skills in wireframing, prototyping, and a variety of design tools
• A deep understanding and execution of Human Centred Design methodologies
• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, InVision and Adobe SuiteSkills that will help you in the role
• Experience working with the Agile change methodology
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and front-end development conceptsWhere will you be working?
