      Position Summary:

      The Value Stream Supervisor (3rd Shift) is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end processes within assigned value streams during the second shift, ensuring efficient production flow, high-quality output, and adherence to safety standards. This role entails managing evening operations, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and leading a team to achieve production goals and key performance metrics. This position reports directly to the Value Stream Manager.

      Principle Duties (includes, but is not limited to):

      • Supervise, coach, and develop 3rd shift production teams to meet production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements. Ensure compliance to all safety requirements, and drive a safety culture.
      • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and facilitate skill development for the evening team.
      • Foster a collaborative, high-performance work environment that encourages employee engagement and accountability on the 3rd shift.
      • Coordinate shift schedules, job assignments, overtime and vacation requests and monitor time and attendance for all 3rd shift production associates.
      • Lead daily huddles with the team to review results, priorities and relevant information.
      • Plan operations for machining and assembly of products based on customer orders.
      • Direct the most complex production flow through the manufacturing area based on effective machine utilization and product scheduling.
      • Oversee quality, on-time-delivery, and cost of sales; manages uptime, changeover, and adherence to cycle time.
      • Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and leading safety training sessions on the 3rd shift.
      • Monitor and maintain compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and environmental standards specific to the evening operations.
      • Conduct regular safety audits, address potential hazards, and promote a safety-first culture within the 3rd shift team.
      • Manage the production process to ensure processes meet safety standards, quality standards, environmental and OSHA regulations.
      • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Engineering, Quality, Maintenance) to streamline processes, resolve production issues, and ensure best-in-class product quality.
      • Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions for production inefficiencies, defects, and quality issues that arise during the 3rd shift.
      • Coordinate activities around major engineering changes in the value stream, engaging in NPD.
      • Fully utilize CBS visual management tools on the shop floor which include performance boards, KPI boards, and tactical supply chain boards.
      • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles, such as 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping, specifically tailored for 3rd shift operations.
      • Monitor and evaluate 3rd shift production processes, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, waste elimination, and productivity enhancement.
      • Implement process changes to enhance product quality and reduce production cycle times for the 3rd shift.
      • Manage monthly production planning by comparing demand vs. resources available.

      Essential Qualifications / Experience:

      • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university; equivalent work experience or combination of education and experience may be considered.
      • Minimum 3 years of progressive operations/machining manufacturing experience required with Continuous Improvement experience preferred.
      • 3-5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment desired.
      • Demonstrated ability to drive self and team to successfully exceed safety, quality and production goals.
      • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
      • Proficiency in process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) and experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite software.
      • Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
      • Experience with ISO 9001 or related standards desired.
      • Willingness to work some weekends as needed.
