      Responsibilities

      As a velocity center manager, you will lead and manage the workforce in the distribution of product according to plan and service specifications, and within established cost parameters. You will direct and manage all distribution activities of the VC. In addition, you will foster and promote a team environment within and between departments to aid in accomplishing the velocity center’s goals. You will assume responsibility and accountability for results in terms of costs, methods, quality, delivery, safety, operations and personnel. You will plan the effective use of personnel and equipment, and coordinate activities of support departments. Additionally, you will recommend changes to improve the overall operation to produce a quality product at a reasonable cost with rapid throughput. You will also maintain active involvement with the regional sales team to provide value to the customer. We value your education and experience, and consider candidates from diverse backgrounds.

      Qualifications

      What You Bring to the Team:

      • Bachelor's degree in logistics, engineering or business preferred, or equivalent experience
      • 8 years of successful process management experience with demonstrated skills in:
        • Safety
        • Process improvement
        • Cost reduction
        • Quality improvement
        • Continuous scheduling
        • Non-union climate maintenance
        • Operations planning - short interval horizon
        • Operations planning - 3-year horizon
        • Supervisor and associate training and development
        • EPA compliance
        • Communications - written and verbal presentations
