- Properly sweep, mop, wax and buff floors of Parks Tourism Facilities (Harvey Hall Convention Center, Rose Garden Center and Goodman Museum).
- Gather and dispose of all trash and waste.
- Clean restrooms.
- Wash walls and windows.
- Clean lighting fixtures, tops of windows, door frames.
- Operate and maintain mechanical cleaners and polishers.
- Set up tables, chairs, stages and other City rental equipment.
- Assist in moving objects.
- Complete delivery of department items.
- Perform grounds maintenance as required.
- Change light bulbs and ceiling tiles with lift.
- Maintain custodial closet, reports supply needs.
- Perform building maintenance as needed.
- Other tasks as assigned.
- Must have the knowledge of common cleaning tools, brooms, mops, dust mops, vacuums, scouring devices, wax applicators, and buffers.
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
- Must be able to work with customers, i.e., internal and external.
- Must be able to perform routine repetitive tasks on a continuous basis.
- Must be able to maintain specified area for cleanliness.
- Must be able to move, carry or deliver objects necessary to work areas.
- Must be able to maintain cleaning equipment.
- Must be able to stand 1-hour per duration of task.
- Must be able to walk up to 2-hours per duration of task.
- Must be able to sit up to 30-minutes per duration of task.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50-lbs.
- Must be able to climb a ladder up to 10-minutes daily.
- Must be able to balance while performing duties.
- Must be able to stoop, bend, crouch, crawl, and reach for up to 2-hours a day.
- Must be able to communicate with employees and management, in person, using a radio or telephone.
- Other duties as assigned.
Under general supervision, assign, direct and perform tasks in the development and implementation of recreational programs and activities. Must be available to work nights and weekends as required.
Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED preferred. At least six (6) months of experience performing general cleaning duties, including use of floor cleaning/maintenance equipment required. A valid Texas Class “C” Driver’s License with clear driving record is preferred.

The City of Tyler will accept two years of relevant experience in place of each year of college required in the job description. Four years of relevant experience will be considered in place of an Associate’s Degree, and eight years of relevant experience will be considered in place of a Bachelor’s Degree. Any experience required in the Minimum qualifications is in addition to years of experience substituted for a degree.
