      After the purchase of Verafin by Nasdaq in 2021, we are excited to announce we are moving toward becoming a fully integrated part of Nasdaq as of January 2024. The job you are applying for will be for the Verafin team as part of the larger Nasdaq organization. The folks involved in the recruitment process will be part of the Verafin team.       Each day our Software Developers get to work on challenging problems, our work term students are no different. They are treated like part of our team and get to work on the same cool problems as our Software Developers. No two days are the same, each day you’ll collaborate with other Software Developers to problem solve and write code that has an impact in the real world. Our cloud-based product, Verafin, helps fight crime by stopping fraud and money laundering. Stopping the flow of this money means stopping crimes such as human trafficking, elder abuse, and drug trafficking.

      Our mission is to fight crime and our long-term vision is to connect every financial institution, through our technology, the FRAML collaboration cloud. Being a Software Developer at Verafin means getting the opportunity to have an impact on criminal activity by getting to do what you love – solve challenging problems using code.

      Essential Skills & Qualifications

      • Enrolled in a university degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science

      • Strong analytical skills for complex and creative problem solving

      • Experience in object-oriented software development

      • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; able to work closely with team members

      Would be good to have experience in a few of these area

      • Experience using JavaScript, CSS, REST

      • Java

      • Automated testing

      • Previous experience working with Core Banking Systems

      • Amazon Web Services

      • Intelligent systems, artificial intelligence and data science

      • Distributed computing

      • Database technologies (PostrgeSQL)

      • Big data technologies

      • Data extraction, manipulation/cleansing and integration
