      The Vertex Co-op Program offers students the opportunity to learn about the pharmaceutical industry from a hands-on perspective. You will be working closely with and learning from some of the brightest people in the industry.       Job Summary:

      The Analytical Development co-op will be responsible for evaluating the performance of new and emerging image segmentation and classification methods. This includes conducting trials on versions of algorithm on optimized camera and light optics, developing and implementing evaluation methods, and reporting on the results of evaluations to the team.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Conduct research on new and emerging image segmentation and classification algorithms and techniques.
      • Assist in early trials of multiple version of image segmentation and classification algorithm for detection and measurement of objects of interest.
      • Develop and implement evaluation methods for image segmentation and classification technologies.
      • Evaluate the performance of new and emerging image segmentation and classification technologies.
      • Report on the results of evaluations to stakeholders.
      • Collaborate with other researchers and engineers to develop new image segmentation and classification technologies.

      Qualifications:

      • MS/PhD in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
      • Strong foundations in image segmentation and classification.
      • Excellent communication and writing skills.
      • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
      • Strong programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or a similar language.
      • Experience with regression modeling techniques.
      • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
      • Hands-on experience of experience in image segmentation and classification technology development and evaluation.
      • Experience with metrology microscopes and smart vision systems is a plus.
      • Experience with AI/ML algorithm classes, including AUC, ROC, and confusion matrices.
      • Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
      • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
      • Legally authorized to work in the United States
      • Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
      • Candidate must be enrolled in an advanced degree program if graduating before December 2024
      • Candidate must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week from July 10, 2024 – December 20, 2024

      Program Dates: July - December 2024, Full Time
