      How you will make an impact

      The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is a crucial position in shaping Halozyme’s technology strategy and leading the implementation and operations of our corporate technology. The CIO responsibilities involve aligning technology initiatives with the overarching business objectives, guaranteeing that Halozyme’s corporate technology adequately supports its operations and objectives including digital transformation, cybersecurity, and M&A readiness. It is the responsibility of the CIO to ensure the presence, proper maintenance and optimal positioning of technical and business systems vital to support business operations.

      In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:

      • Contribute actively to Halozyme’s corporate strategy and business capability strategic planning and develop and implement the organization's corporate technology roadmap, in line with the business strategy, to drive innovation, efficiency, and competitive advantage while protecting corporate digital assets.

      • Establish the operating model for data and technology that cultivates a business-oriented approach and champion a culture of data and digital innovation.

      • Collaborate with executive leadership and business partners to define and implement the digital business strategy, while driving culture change in support of digital business transformation.

      • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and standard methodologies evaluating their potential impact on the organization and recommending strategic technological advancements.

      • Develop and lead the IT portfolio budget, ensuring sufficient resources are allocated for technology investments, returns are realized, and future investments are balanced across business needs, while providing a stable and efficient support operating model.

      • Enhance IT's capabilities by using resources, both internally and externally. Direct the development of the IT sourcing strategy and provide executive oversight for strategic vendor and partner relationship management.

      • Evaluate and select technology vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services.

      • Provides strategic direction for Cybersecurity Program using a risk-based approach, direct internal and external services to execute on strategy and ensure program agility to adapt to and evolving threat landscape.

      • Drive M&A readiness in IT processes and related business processes to ensure business achieves timely benefits from investments.

      • Build and lead a strong IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members.

      To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

      • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems or related field required with minimum of 18 years of diverse experience in the Field of IT, encompassing various roles and responsibilities. (A combination of education and experience may be considered)

      • Minimum of 15 years of management experience including experience in digital transformation, cyber security, and artificial intelligence (AI) is preferred.

      • Executive experience in leadership roles, demonstrating the ability to effectively lead teams and drive critical initiatives.

      • Experience with compliance, risk management and operations for life sciences industry organizations, including internal and external audit and regulated areas such as SOX, GXP

      • Proven experience or demonstrated capability in leading large, complex and or transformational initiatives in dynamic environments and taking advantage of digital opportunities to innovate business models and enable the digitalization of the business.

      • Experience working with innovative technologies such as AI. Machine Learning, IOT. robotics.

      • Experience with leading SaaS business solutions such as Workday, Master Control, Compliance Wire, Trace link, Veeva and ERPs

      • Experience with managing enterprise-wide Microsoft Office 365 platform.

      • Executive presence: a polished leader that exercises senior-level judgment and inspires confidence among senior leaders and collaborators, internal and external to the company.

      • Strong communication skills, including experience translating complex technical issues and requirements to non-technical people.

      • Proactive self-starter that is organized and can define goals and prioritize and deliver outstanding results in a sophisticated and at times ambiguous environment.

      The most likely base pay range for this position is $259K to $388K per year. Several factors, such as experience, tenure, skills, and particular business needs, will determine an individual’s exact level of compensation. Base salary is only one element of employee compensation at Halozyme. Total compensation could include bonuses, sales incentives, and equity awards.
