For me, that’s a big breath of fresh air."- Sunrise LeaderThe Vice President of Clinical Quality and Programs is responsible for overseeing clinical quality performance metrics and the execution of clinical programs across Sunrise’s independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing communities. This role partners closely with Care leadership and cross-functional teams to develop, implement and enhance clinical initiatives that improve resident outcomes, while providing strategic leadership consistent with the Sunrise mission and culture, ensuring regulatory compliance and driving operational excellence and efficiency. Additionally, as a nursing clinical leader, the Vice President of Clinical Quality and Programs fosters collaboration across teams, mentors clinical leadership and engages key stakeholders to elevate Sunrise’s standard of care and promote a culture of continuous quality improvement.
RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

The unique responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the essential functions listed as follows:Leadership and Collaboration• Champion a world-class care and clinical culture, setting the standard for clinical best practices and leading by example• Monitor and evaluate Clinical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) based on industry best practices, trends and leadership/Board direction to ensure high-quality resident care• Partner with Care Leadership and Compliance/Clinical Risk teams to oversee clinical quality metrics and ensure survey preparedness• Direct the execution and continuous improvement of Clinical Programs to optimize resident outcomes• Partner with Dining Services, Operations, Sales and Finance to enhance efficiency, productivity and quality across the organization• Develop, lead and monitor key initiatives from conception to execution, ensuring alignment with Sunrise’s strategic vision and long-term success• Act as a trusted advisor to the Care team, providing strategic guidance and value-driven contributions to business initiatives• Educate stakeholders on results-driven quality improvement, serving as the organization’s go-to expert in clinical excellence• Partner with Corporate Communications and key stakeholders to design and execute change management and communication plans for clinical programsProgram Management and Execution• Design, implement and evaluate Clinical and Wellness program improvements that enhance resident satisfaction and drive financial performance• Partner with clinical teams to implement wellness programs at the community level, tracking outcomes against key performance targets and regulatory standards, and transition them to community-level management for sustained execution following their successful rollout• Establish program-level monitoring routines to track milestones, assess progress and proactively address challenges without disrupting daily operations• Leverage company systems and analytics to assess clinical performance, forecast trends and inform strategic decisions• Collaborate with Care and Operations teams to evaluate regulatory changes, business needs and vendor impacts, recommending solutions that enhance compliance and efficiency• Identify and address critical issues affecting business direction, proactively developing strategies to drive clinical and operational improvementsOther• Maintain compliance in assigned required training and all training required by state/province or other regulating authorities as applicable to this role to ensure that Sunrise standards are always met• Perform other duties as assigned. Core Competencies: • Deep understanding of clinical best practices, healthcare regulations, compliance standards and risk management to ensure high-quality resident care and adherence to federal, state and provincial requirements• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, mentor clinical leadership and drive organizational change by building trust, fostering collaboration and aligning stakeholders around strategic priorities• Experience designing, launching and managing large-scale clinical and wellness programs, with the ability to measure success through KPIs and continuous improvement strategies• Strong analytical skills with experience leveraging data, performance metrics and forecasting tools to assess clinical outcomes, inform strategic initiatives and drive operational improvements• Proven ability to identify inefficiencies, streamline processes and implement sustainable improvements while successfully navigating complex organizational change• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex clinical concepts into actionable insights for executive leadership, community teams and external partnersABOUT SUNRISE
