- Lead, through subordinate team members, the effective management of the Club, Food & Beverage, Golf (where applicable) Spa & Fitness, Membership, Lifestyle and Facilities Maintenance functional areas to maximize financial performance while upholding quality standards and maximizing levels of member/guest satisfaction.
- Drive operational excellence by implementing and improving upon standards to enhance overall resort performance .
- Measure the effectiveness of broad-based marketing plans efforts to maximize the number of market segments needed and to diversify the sources of revenues for Golf Operations, Food & Beverage and Spa/Fitness.
- Ensure the development of a realistic and attainable strategic business model that defines operational goals and profitability objectives.
- Coordinate capital improvement projects to maintain/upgrade quality standards and property image, and to protect assets from neglect, damage, or deterioration.
- Participate and assist in ownership meetings, including Board meetings, as required.
- Collaborate with People Services to ensure a productive, participative, and comfortable work environment in which all team members are valued and treated lawfully and consistently, and to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal employment and labor laws and regulations, including, but not limited to, Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, Equal Pay Act, and Pregnancy Discrimination Act. Directly facilitate open team member communications to discern grievances and to respond to these grievances in all appropriate manners including redressing those meriting correction.
- Actively participate with ownership partners in home sales presentations, property tours and member/guest meetings as required.
- Perform administrative duties including reading and writing reports, dictating memorandums, and orally communicating with member/guests, managers, team members, corporate office, local associations, etc. Exercise judgment and implement changes to maximize profits while maintaining quality and member/guest satisfaction. Supervise development of and revision to business model, annual budget, and annual and monthly forecasts, etc. Participate as a team player with other key executive members within assigned area.
- Interview, hire, develop, supervise, and counsel Club General Managers in the efficient operation of their respective area(s), per standard policies and procedures. Meet with, develop, and delegate improvement plans for operation and review performance of management team. Support a proactive People Services function and ensure compliance with all state, federal and local employment and labor laws and regulations.
- Develop and deploy strategies and maintain same through competitive data, demand analysis and mix management statistics for base resort club. Provide constructive feedback to resort club sales and marketing team members in base resort club and resort clubs within assigned area.
- Develops methods and criteria for bidding purposes, writes requests for proposals and work specifications, solicits contract proposals, conducts contract negotiations, prepares, reviews and proposes contracts, monitors contract performance or completions, reviews all longterm ongoing contracts annually and works closely with BSRG President and CFO with contracts and reviews, evaluates and approves all contractor agreements.
- Ensures Club General Managers conduct daily shift start meetings, weekly operational meetings and catering meetings and other resort club meetings as requested/required. Professionally represent the base golf resort club and resort clubs within assigned area at industry events, trade shows and marketing meetings as needed/required.
- Manage/direct all advertising, public relations and promotional activities for the clubs ensuring the clubs are a model of compliance for corporate and brand standards and programs.
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

- Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Resort club/Restaurant or Business Administration, or equivalent education/experience required.
- Ten years of related resort club, golf operations, and hospitality hotel management (GM level or above) experience preferred. Experience must be in four or five diamond level hospitality experiences.
- Minimum five years of VP level multi-unit experience.
- Knowledge and experience in all facets of club management.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
- Most tasks are performed independently or in a team environment with the team member acting as a team leader. There is minimal direct supervision.
- Desire to participate as part of a team.
- Must possess basic computational ability.
- Must possess basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of computer accounting programs, math skills as well as budgetary analysis capabilities required.
- Ability to maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Extensive knowledge of sales skills.
- Ability to assess/evaluate other team members’ performance in a fair and consistent manner.
- Ability to supervise, train and motivate multiple levels of managers.
- Knowledge of golf operations, resort clubs and competitive markets.
- Participate in the development of short- and long-term financial and operational goals of the golf operations and resort club.
- Ensure that member/guest satisfaction is consistently obtained and maintained.
- Possess advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within all resort club disciplines, including experiential knowledge for management of people and complex problems.
- Ability to study, analyze and interpret complex activities and/or information in order to improve new practices or develop new approaches.
- Ability to make decisions with only general policies and procedures available for guidance.
- Expertise in Food & Beverage operations.
- Ability to apply supervisory/management (soft) skills.

- This position requires a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends, as well as regular travel.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
BlueStar Resort & Golf – Central Services Main Office
BlueStar is a boutique management firm focused on supporting developers, asset managers, and community Boards in the successful operation of their resort and golf amenities. Our expertise is in all aspects of hospitality management, including golf, spa, food & beverage, community clubs, and more, particularly in active adult or age-qualified residential communities. We also provide full-scale landscape services in some locations. Our portfolio spans literally from coast to coast, with many beautiful locations in between.
Where: Located in Scottsdale, Arizona
Pay: $220,000 - $230,000 annual + Bonus Eligible
Benefits:
New management full-time team members working 30 hours or more per week, will be eligible for the Company medical, dental and life insurance plans the first of the month following the first day of full-time employment.
Full-Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Time Off (“PTO”) in accordance with the Company policy at a rate of 120 hours per year.
Full-Time team members are eligible for 7 paid holidays annually.
All team members 21 years and older are eligible to participate in the J.F. Shea Co., Inc. 401(k) plan after completion of 60 days of service.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
As a member of BlueStar Resort & Golf, the Vice President, Club Operations provides the leadership expertise that ensures the effective and efficient operation of multi-unit/state Club operations and programs, the resort clubs, including, but not limited to, the quality and legal defensibility of services provided, and the achievement of stated operational goals and profitability objectives. Manage the operations of the golf courses and resort clubs in order to maximize profitability and to ensure superior client, member/guest service and product quality. Serve as the “senior advisor” for the resort clubs designated by BSRG President.
