      The Opportunity:

      The Vice President, Compensation role is responsible for managing global compensation related programs and platforms. This position ensures that company compensation programs are consistently administered, responsive to the markets the Firm operates in, compliant with company policies and government regulations, and promote the attainment of company goals. The position works closely with internal stakeholders, including Executive Committee members, influencing and modeling comprehensive compensation programs, including base salary, bonus, and long-term incentives. An integral part of the Total Rewards team, the Vice President, Compensation actively contributes to the successful execution of Hamilton Lane’s reward program and value proposition.

      Overview:

      • Position reports into the Head of Total Rewards within the HR organization but will work closely with Finance, Legal, IT, the Compensation Committee and other leaders of the firm
      • Provide direction and day-to-day management of global compensation within the Total Rewards function
      • Implement the global compensation strategy working balancing compensation philosophy consistent with organizational goals of attracting and retaining high-performing employees
      • Optimize efficiency of systems, processes and procedures within the group

      In this role, you will:

      • Manage the compensation programs including annual year-end compensation process (merit, bonus, restricted stock awards and carried interest). Understand local markets and practice.
      • Maintain and enhance compensation framework in line with market and peers
      • Manage periodic promotion and new hire processes
      • Partner with Legal, Finance and Tax on a wide variety public company disclosure and filings including, but not limited to, the company’s annual proxy statement and other executive compensation matters
      • Monitor local competitive environment, develop analyses and presentations to illustrate trends and propose changes to compensation approaches both short and long term
      • Manage directly the benchmarking process, survey data analysis and review
      • Oversee plan and program administration including, but not limited to
        • Carried Interest Plans
        • Equity Incentive Program
        • Restricted Stock Plan
        • Employee Investment Program
      • Will work with Finance (FP&A) team to budget and project employee compensation expense
      • Partner with HRBPs to produce competitive analysis as need and to ensure outcomes of pay for performance
      • Influence others in general compensation design and implementation

      • Systems
        • Oversee administration of Workday Advanced Comp and other platforms including EWM and Shareworks, by Morgan Stanley
        • Ensure testing is completed for biannual Workday update releases
        • Kick off and administer periodic comp cycles in Workday
        • Oversee updates and integrations with other third-party systems

      Your background will include:

      • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Accounting, Finance or Human Resources
      • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in compensation administration required, Certified Compensation Professional designation is a very strong plus
      • Experience in benchmarking compensation and benefits versus competitors
      • Experience in Stock Plan Administration or compensation for a multi-national, publicly traded company
      • Experience working in compensation on a global scale
      • Experience in financial services, asset management, Private Equity a plus
      • Experience with Workday or other HCM systems
      • Strong quantitative, statistical, and analytical skills, advanced Excel skills and ability to generate reports from Payroll and HCM systems.
