      As a successful Vice President, Digital Solutions Engineering, you will be responsible for customer-facing software development, including but not limited to web apps, mobile apps, and website functionality. You will lead highly talented teams across multiple locations while aligning each team to a unified vision that is collaborated with the Digital Solutions Product team. This shared vision will be communicated to key stakeholders across the organization, including executive leadership. You will partner with an innovative Product Management team, Digital Enterprise (IT), Marketing, and Product Engineering to deliver consistent, high-quality releases.

      WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time)

      Operations (50%)

      • Develop, modernize, and sustain the company's digital solutions software offerings in collaboration with the Digital Solutions Product team and CTO to ensure alignment with business goals and the technology roadmap.
      • Assess short- and long-term digital solutions software gaps, needs, and opportunities to meet current and future market conditions.
      • Drive solutions engineering teams to deliver software organically, partnering with best-in-class providers or through acquisitions to adapt to evolving market conditions.
      • Ensure digital software solutions are future-proof, cost-effective, and exhibit high performance, security, scalability, maintainability, reusability, and reliability upon deployment.
      • Stay at the forefront of innovative technologies to address pressing customer software needs, working with market development and product teams to leverage new technologies for competitive advantage.
      • Align software development with strategic digital solutions goals.

      Department Management (50%)

      • Define, revise, and optimize the organizational capabilities and skills of the solutions engineering department as the market and business goals evolve.
      • Champion digital technology identification, assessment, application, and implementation of best practices, collaborating with development teams to remove blockers.
      • Provide leadership on software development, cloud architecture, services consumption, application design, DevOps, and third-party integrations, maintaining knowledge of digital trends and competitive insights.
      • Mentor and develop employees in software engineering, architecture, and user experience teams.
      • Manage the department's budget effectively, tracking capital projects and costs to maximize return on investment.
      • Define, monitor, and report on KPIs and analytics to assess technological performance, in alignment with the Digital Solutions Product team and CTO.
      • Utilize feedback from customers, stakeholders, and team members to implement improvements to digital solutions.

      DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

      If you can do everything listed above, you've got what it takes. Some helpful qualifications include:

      • Master's degree in software engineering, computer science, or a relevant field.
      • At least 10 years of software engineering management experience, including design and implementation with distributed systems and applications.
      • Demonstrable experience transforming on-premises features/products into multi-tenant XaaS solutions, leading successful incubations, scaled deployments, cloud-native services, and infrastructure technologies.
      • Experience in building construction or management industry is preferred.
      • Proven track record of developing and executing market-leading digital solutions in B2B and B2C markets.
      • Strong leadership qualities including action orientation, collaboration, customer focus, results-driven approach, trust-building, accountability, decision-making, influence, team building, talent development, complexity management, stakeholder balancing, and vision driving.

      PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

      The physical demands and work environment characteristics necessary for this role include:

      Physical Requirements: Sitting, talking, hearing, walking, standing, occasionally pushing or lifting up to 25 lbs.

      Work Environment: Professional office setting with standard office equipment.

      Travel: Approximately 35% domestic travel required.

      Location: Preferably in the Bay Area, CA or Dallas, TX. Relocation assistance available.

      Compensation and Benefits

      Annual salary range: $200,900 - $301,400, based on location and experience.
