- Maintain strategic vision for the long term while addressing needs in the short term. Develop and maintain critical inter-functional relationships to assure direction of product development and market introduction.
- Support customer applications with appropriate documentation and/or selection tools. Establish and maintain Actuation Technologies image as technical leader within the actuation industry. Provide assessment of driven products and associated technical information.
- Interact and work multi-functionally with all business functions to receive input, address problems, share practices, and understand the impact of initiatives. Implement standard engineering practices across all world areas to align engineering priorities with business needs. Provide the technical expertise and resources to allow field and factory problems to be solved in an efficient manner.
- Provide leadership, management, and mentorship to all engineering team members. Develop organizational structure that optimizes engineering resources. Build robust succession plans and paths for engineering technical career advancement.
- Lead intellectual property portfolio and budget planning for global programs.
- Bachelors in Engineering or Master's degree. MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of leadership and direct global engineering supervisory experience required, within a matrixed organization preferred.
- An independent and entrepreneurial thinker with sound decision-making skills and problem solving. Validated leadership in cross-organization collaboration, with financial and planning competence.

Join Emerson as the Vice President of Engineering for our Actuation Technologies Business Unit, based in Houston, Texas, where you’ll lead a global, high-impact function with responsibility for Order Engineering, Product Development, Research, and Product Lifecycle Management. In this strategic role, you’ll drive innovation, mature engineering practices, and foster collaboration across a distributed team.
As a key member of the President’s leadership team, you’ll help craft the direction of the business while using engineering capabilities to deliver meaningful value. A successful candidate is not just an engineer, but a supporting people manager with a drive for results and experience leading a global function.
