      The Role

      We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Enterprise IT Vendor Management Office (VMO) to join our Operational Excellence & Governance department. This executive role is pivotal in optimizing our IT vendor management practices to ensure strategic alignment, cost-efficiency, risk mitigation, and performance excellence.

      Key Responsibilities

      Strategic Vendor Management Leadership

      • Develop and implement a comprehensive IT vendor management strategy that aligns with the company’s overall IT and business objectives, focusing on maximizing value, efficiency, and innovation from IT vendor relationships.

      Vendor Relationship and Performance Management

      • Oversee the management of all IT vendor relationships, ensuring that vendors meet or exceed their contractual obligations, deliverables, and performance benchmarks. Implement a robust performance management framework to monitor and evaluate vendor performance.

      Service Leadership

      • Lead and manage a team of service leads, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence aligned to McKesson’s ICARE and ILEAD values.
      • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members to ensure professional development and growth.

      Contract Negotiation and Management

      • Lead the negotiation, development, and management of IT vendor contracts to secure favorable terms, ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards, and achieve strategic objectives.

      Risk Management and Compliance

      • Implement risk management practices to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with IT vendors and third-party engagements.
      • Ensure vendor compliance with legal, regulatory, and security requirements.

      Cross-Functional Collaboration

      • Collaborate with IT, finance, legal, and business units to ensure cohesive vendor management practices that support cross-functional needs and strategic initiatives.

      Cost Management and Optimization

      • Drive cost management initiatives to ensure IT vendor engagements are cost-effective and deliver optimal value. Implement best practices for cost reduction, avoidance, and optimization across IT vendor contracts.

      Minimum Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

      • 15+ years of professional experience and 10+ years of diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization, and people motivation skills (or equivalent experience).

      Business Experience

      This role will be an overall effective manager, communicator, and a proven thought leader who is able to conceptualize, plan, program, and implement. The individual may be called upon to represent McKesson Senior Executives that leverage new or existing IT Service Providers, as appropriate. The correct candidate will possess energy, create enthusiasm for advancing the strategic sourcing strategy, and execute the strategy with each service provider.

      The optimal candidate for this position will have the following experiences and expertise:

      • Demonstrated program management experience including outsourcing contract management
      • Demonstrated ability to integrate and manage large initiatives and operations
      • Demonstrated ability to lead change at the executive level with a focus on service delivery and financial results
      • Understanding of benchmarking processes and techniques
      • Experience with outsourcing, performance measures, and monitoring
      • Thinks globally and sees multiple aspects and impacts of issues and projects them into the future
      • Provides direct, complete, and “actionable” positive and corrective feedback to others

      Specialized Knowledge & Skills

      • Extensive experience in IT vendor management, contract negotiation, and performance management, preferably in a large, complex organization.
      • Proven track record of developing and executing vendor management strategies that align with business objectives.
      • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing teams and developing talent.
      • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
      • Knowledge of IT industry trends, vendor landscape, and best practices in vendor management.
      • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

      Education & Certifications

      • BA/BS or equivalent experience
      • MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred
      • ITIL Foundation certification preferred
      • Certification of Procurement and/or Supply Chain
      • Certification with Six Sigma and/or the Project Management Institute (PMI)

      As part of Total Rewards, we are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

      Our Base Pay Range for this position

      $201,000 - $335,000
