Title and Summary
Vice President, Finance Planning and Analysis Overview
• Are you analytical, numeric and detail-oriented with excellent Excel skills?
• Can you translate details into the bigger picture story and communicate to management?
• Are you a dedicated team-player who works collaboratively in the team’s best interest?
• The FP&A lead has a broad remit across P&E, but at a headline level the function is responsible for providing finance support to the P&E and other functional leads across the Business Unit/regions. In addition, the role is likely to take on meaningful projects at the P&E Finance level and reports to the P&E CFO.
Role
• Work with P&E CFO, business unit CFOs and business partners in P&E to build and execute on strategy for the business
• Prepare senior management presentations such as Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR), Quarterly Operating Reviews (QOR), annual budgets, monthly actuals to forecast and other ad-hoc presentations
• Prepare strategic reporting for senior management. Consolidate, review, and synthesize reports from divisions. Share and implement best practices. Understand and report on impact of external factors like delays of deals in pipeline, transactions, and other business drivers. Assure revenue forecast is well developed
• Oversee expense management across P&E to ensure compliance with budget targets. Understand main drivers of expenses for the various groups, variances vs forecast and identify efficiency opportunities
• Act as the main point of interaction between P&E and corporate finance
• Business partnership and support for groups within P&E as required:
o Manage quarterly expense forecasts, alignment with business stakeholders. Monitor and report risks and opportunities
o Review designated reports (monthly, quarterly, annual), ad hoc analysis, communicate findings to group/business unit leadership
o Execute strategy and business process improvement initiatives by building and maintaining financial tools to perform analysis and modelling; review and create suggestions to product and business unit plans
o Development of business cases and investment tracking
• Participate in global projects when needed (i.e., Hyperion implementation, product P&L) and assist in enhancing finance infrastructure
All About You:
• Bachelor’s Degree in finance or accounting; MBA preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel: pivots, lookups, index, sumif), Oracle, Hyperion and Tableau
• Seasoned and senior people leader, with experience across the range of responsibilities stated above. Results driven with a disciplined approach to achieving goals.
• Commercial mindset, strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Track record of driving process and systems improvements
• Proactive with the ability to identify issues before they develop into problems; proactively resolving issues directly or through escalation to appropriate partners
• Strong interpersonal & communication skills
• Strong contributor who thrives in a collaborative team environment, but comfortable with making independent thought-out decisions
• Strong sense of ownership and able to deliver results within tight deadlines
