      Job Description

      Reporting to the Senior Vice-President, Finance, the candidate will be responsible for the financial operations of our asset management business. The candidate will have a broad exposure across multiple areas including financial analysis, consolidation & reporting, operations improvement and drive a deeper understanding of the key metrics around our business. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable maneuvering in a large matrix organization, and has proven to have exceptional finance/accounting experience.

      Overview:

      • Lead and manage an 8-person finance team to complete reporting under IFRS and US GAAP.

      • Position the team for our next growth phase through automation and process improvement.

      • Manage financial operations over reporting, performance measurement, and treasury, payables and receivables.

      Financial Reporting:

      • Responsible for the financial reporting process including quarterly consolidated financial statements and monthly management reports supported by analysis and work papers.

      • Establish and maintain robust processes over accounting operations, ensuring key internal controls meet quality standards, are consistently applied, and regularly reviewed to be SOX compliant.

      • Liaise with internal and external auditors for interim reviews, year-end audits and controls testing.

      • Set and implement transformative improvements to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

      • Automate recurring analysis and working papers involving large data sets.

      • Liaise with and support Fund operations, tax, legal, and treasury on corporate initiatives.

      Performance Measurement:

      • Lead the annual business plan processes across the platform to reflect corporate growth strategy.

      • Perform quarterly profitability analysis by fund strategy to track actual-to-budget progress.

      • Report on key metrics such as fee-bearing capital and carried interest through review of financial models.

      • Prepare quarterly submissions with a written report on key drivers behind operating results.

      Treasury, Payables and Receivables:

      • Oversee day-to-day operation of the shared service functions involving treasury, payables and billing to funds.

      • Ensure timely cash flow forecasts and optimization of working capital.

      Qualifications and Requirements:

      • CA or CPA designation with at least 8 - 10 years of experience in roles that produced financial statements and with at least 5 years of experience in managing teams.

      • Enjoys an entrepreneurial environment that requires rolling up the sleeves and fostering a “can do” culture.

      • Critical thinker who conceptualizes, analyzes and synthesizes information in unstructured situations to solve problems and recommend solutions.

      • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills is a must and can simplify complex issues to a wide audience.

      • Excel and tech-savvy to identify, analyze and implement changes that enhance business performance.

      • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics is an asset.
