- Lead and manage the development and implementation of a coordinated approach to advance business-relevant policy issues related to health systems, healthcare financing and regulatory reforms across global markets.
- Represent Pfizer in advocacy engagements with government officials, global policy makers and other policy stakeholders, as well as supporting Pfizer senior executives on the same.
- Oversee and facilitate the generation and use of economic and policy-based analysis to shape health environments and broader health system trends impacting Pfizer's assets, markets, and/ or reputation.
- Develop the overall people, technological and financial resourcing strategy for the Global Markets Policy and Public Affairs team.
- Collaborate with other businesses segments and functions to ensure an aligned approach to policy and advocacy that advance important business and patient priorities.
- Develop academic and other stakeholder networks to advance new research supporting priority policy issues for Pfizer and its patients.
- Ensure internal alignment and acts as a connector across business units and between global, regional, and local public affairs.
- Measure the impact of policy activities with internal and external stakeholders and continuously monitors the relevance of projects and activities to the business.
- 15+ years experience in the pharma industry is preferred including 5+ years in a leadership capacity for a large, global team in a matrix environment. This experience could be a combination of policy, legal, commercial or other relevant disciplines.
- BS/BA required, advanced degree highly preferred (MBA, MPH, JD)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.
- Demonstrated acumen in negotiation and debate.
- Must have a strong executive presence, prior experience working with executive leadership a plus.
- Can assess and articulate the business and reputation impact of policy challenges and opportunities, facilitating internal consensus and a one-Pfizer approach.
- Operates successfully in a high intensity environment, manages multiple demands though prioritization and efficient use of time.
- Experienced cross functional and direct team leader with positive feedback from direct reports and demonstrated ability to grow and develop others.
- Help develop and implement the overarching vision, strategy and operating plan for Global Markets Policy and Public Affairs. Ensure alignment with other divisions.
- Deliver continuous improvement in performance, timelines and financial efficiency.
- Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact

ROLE SUMMARY
The Vice President for Global Markets is responsible for shaping and advocating for Pfizer’s public policy positions and priorities in markets outside the United States. This position will manage a team of professional located in markets around the world.
